How to Unlock Phone with Google Assisstant

Google Assistant is Google Voice feature which uses Artificial Intelligence to accept your voice and respond accordingly. Instead of performing your operations on phone with your finger tips, you can do those operations with your natural voice using Google Assistant. The software also allows keyboard input to perform the operations.

The Google Assistant can be used to send text message, play your music, control your home devices, set your room temperature, set an alarm, or anything that you think of you can do with  your Phone.

Google Assistant with Voice Match


Today we will see step by step quick guide to unlock your phone with Google Assistant voice match. Here are the steps with screenshot to unlock your smart phone with Google Assistant.

Quick Steps to Unlock your Phone with Google Assistant from your Android device:
Go to Phone Settings > Google > Search, Assistant & Voice > Voice > Voice Match > Access with Voice Match > Unlock with Voice Match(confirm your screen lock pattern or password if you have it) > Click 'Ok' > Click 'I AGREE' > Say 'Ok Google' > Say 'Ok Google' > Say 'Hey Google' > Say 'Hey Google'

Below are the detailed steps with screenshots for Android Device to unlock your phone with Google Assistant voice match:

Step 1: Go To your Phone Settings > Google

Step 2: Select 'Search, Assistant & Voice'

Step 6: Click 'Ok' and 'I Agree'

It also displays a note that a similar voice or any recording would be able to assess and unlock your phone using Google Assistant.

The setup is now complete and you can now lock your screen and say 'Ok Google' to unlock your screen. Note that if you have any touch screen and gravity screen software installed, you might need to press the power button before you speak 'Ok Google' to unlock your phone.

A very nice and handy feature, but it still has security concern since if someone try to mimic or try to speak with a similar voice the phone will be unlocked. Considering that it is less secure compare to the traditional unlock pattern or password lock.

Google Assistant also displays similar warning during the setup mentioning it is less secure and a similar voice can unlock your phone with below message during setup.
