Chrome Changed today with these New Features

We mentioned in our earlier post when Google Chrome turned 10 and will release new features coming weeks. The update went live earlier today and app is auto upgraded to the latest Chrome version 69.0.3497.100 (Official Build).

The upgrade normally happen in the background when you close and reopen your computer's browser.The upgrade is automatically enabled and installed for most of the users and it includes cleaner, modern design, a fresh look and new features.




Chrome UI

Below are some of the new features:

Add and Manage People for Chrome with Name and Photo of your Choice:
Chrome now allows to create and manage users for the specific tab. You can now add as many person as needed which allows the specific user login. Eg. you can now login to multiple google accounts in in different tabs. You can also set a picture of specific users from the allowed icons. The user icon is displayed at the top right corner of the chrome next to settings menu.

Click the Customize Controls Settings Icon More. then Settings > Manage other People


It allows to manager the existing users, add new user or to browser as a guest.

Add person option allows to add a new user and select a icon for the user.


You can create as many users as you want. Clicking the checkbox 'Create a desktop shortcut for this user' will create a chrome shortcut on desktop for that user.

Change Chrome Background: 
You can now get rid of the default chrome browser background to the background of your own choice by following the steps below:
1. Click on the Settings Icon at the bottom of your screen.
2. You can either choose the default Chrome backgrounds or upload your own image and click done to change the browser background.



You can revert back to the default by clicking 'Restore default background'.

If your Chrome is not auto upgraded, below are the steps how to upgrade your application to the latest Chrome version.

Steps to get Latest Chrome Upgrade on Computer :
  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, look at More More.
  3. If an update is pending, the icon will be colored:
    • Green: An update's been available for 2 days.
    • Orange: An update's been available for 4 days.
    • Red: An update's been available for 7 days.
To update Google Chrome:
  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More More.
  3. Click Update Google Chrome. If you don't see this button, you're on the latest version.
  4. Click Relaunch.
The browser saves your opened tabs and windows and reopens them automatically when it restarts. If you'd prefer not to restart right away, click Not now. The next time you restart your browser, the update will be applied.

Steps to get Latest Chrome Upgrade on Android:

Chrome should automatically update based upon your Play Store settings. You can check if there's a new version available:
  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Play Store app Play Store.
  2. At the top left, tap Menu Menu and then My apps & games. Apps with available updates are listed under "Updates."
  3. Under "Updates," look for Chrome Chrome app.
  4. If Chrome is listed, tap Update.

Steps to get Latest Chrome Upgrade on iPhone & iPad:

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the App Store.
  2. At the bottom, tap Updates.
  3. In the pending updates, look for Chrome Chrome app.
  4. If Chrome is listed, tap Update to install.
  5. If asked, enter your Apple ID password. The updates will download and install.
