Gmail "Undo Send" Feature to Cancel and Take Back Sent Email

You might have faced a situation where you sent an important email and after sending you realize there was a mistake which was to be corrected,  or may be you spotted some error and need to give a second thought on the email content before sending it. Thanks to Gmail new feature called 'Undo Send' which is introduced by Gmail in its latest upgrade. The "Undo Send" can be used to cancel or recall an already sent email.


Using this feature allows you to now take back a message right after sending in case you spotted a mistake or have a second thought.  Though there is a time limit in which you need to recall if needed. It gives you minimum 5 and maximum 30 seconds to recall a sent email which is irrespective of type or content of the email.

Although this feature has been around about a year now on the web version of Gmail, but Google has now made it available to its Android users. The feature is activated after a forced shutdown of the Gmail app. To use the “undo send” feature, simply click on the “enable undo send” checkbox and set the time.

Go to Gmail > Settings > General tab in which navigating down gives below option to set the "Send cancellation period" in seconds varying from 5, 10, 20 or 30 seconds to choose from.
