With the newer version of Gmail mobile application update, you can now configure the swipe actions to your inbox emails.
With the old version of the Gmail Android application, swiping your email Archives the email by default limiting the actions and customization. This has now overcome with latest upgrade.
You will have to configure it before to activate the swipe actions.
Open Gmail > Go to Settings > General Settings > Swipe actions. This opens swipe actions to change the Left and Right Swipe.
Click on Right or Left Swipe to change the actions for the specific swipe. You can even click on ‘Change’ link to change the swipe actions.
It allows to take any of the below actions of the right / left swipe of the email.
You can either choose Archive, Delete, Mark as read/unread, Move to, Snooze or None actions.
